It always makes me smile when people who have never lived in Africa compare life in Ghana to Jamaica or the USA. Most Ghanaians would kill to have the opportunities many African-Americans take for granted. In fact, quite a few of the people I’ve known in Ghana over 30-years have managed to escape to America one way or other. They rarely return and have been surprised that I lasted six years in their homeland. On the other hand, neither love nor money would see me moving to America. I tried that once, and lasted nine months only. You can read a little about it here. I hope you do manage to get to the Motherland at some point. All the best.
